Netflix original animation K-pop Demon Hunters (KD Hunters) will be screened in select theaters for a limited weekend event.
On August 13, the official social media accounts for KD Hunters announced that the animation will be shown in theaters from August 23–24 across North America and parts of Canada, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Jose, Ottawa, Kingston, and Montreal. The screenings will include both standard 2D and sing-along formats. A poster released alongside the announcement encouraged fans to "sing together to seal the evil spirits."
The social media launch responds to global fan demand. The animation's team described it as "a space by fans, for fans," and featured the HUNTRIX agency head, who created the accounts after seeing fan comments requesting an official presence.
KD Hunters blends K-pop idol culture with fantasy action, following the girl group HUNTRIX as they battle demons through music. The series has drawn massive attention worldwide, surpassing 184.6 million cumulative viewing hours by August 13, making it Netflix's second most-watched animated title.
The soundtrack has also gained significant popularity, particularly the track GOLDEN, which reached No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, marking a historic first for a K-pop female artist.
