KBS is set to return to the epic historical drama genre two years after The Goryeo-Khitan War.

On August 14, KBS shared a comprehensive teaser via its YouTube channel KBS Drama, revealing the upcoming drama lineup scheduled for late this year through next year.

Highlighting Victory and National Unity

The new historical series King Munmu will depict the triumphs of the small kingdom of Silla as it overcame Goguryeo, Baekje, and Tang China to achieve the unification of the Three Kingdoms. The drama will focus on a great leader who upheld the value of national unity during times of adversity, posing the question, "How should we live in this era?"

Before King Munmu premieres, KBS will air Twelve and Eunsu's Good Day, offering an action-hero story and a human crime thriller, respectively, providing diverse entertainment styles.

A KBS representative commented that, as suggested in the teaser caption "Buzzing with word-of-mouth," KBS's weekend prime-time dramas are expected to emerge as a new force in the schedule.

The exact premiere date for King Munmu will be announced at a later time.
