Netflix film K-Pop Demon Hunters (abbreviated as KDH) has set another remarkable milestone.
'Golden' Reclaims UK Top Spot
The UK Official Singles Chart revealed its Top 100 on August 15 (KST), with the KDH original soundtrack (OST) track Golden securing the number one position. This marks a return to the summit after roughly two weeks, surpassing American singer-songwriter Chapelle Ron's The Subway.
Historic Climb on the Charts
Golden first entered the chart at 93 on June 29, then progressed through 31, 20, 9, and 4 before claiming the top spot, completing a dramatic comeback narrative. It also made K-pop history by being the first song by a Korean artist to remain on the UK Official Chart for a second week. Previously, Psy's Gangnam Style had stayed at number one for only one week.
Strong Album Performance
The KDH OST also excelled in streaming metrics, recording 18,631 streams in the UK—surpassing Bobby OST, which had 17,681 streams.
Multiple Tracks Charting
Other tracks from the OST also made the charts: Soda Pop at 6, Your Idol at 7, and Take Down at 35.
About the Song
Golden is performed by the fictional girl group HuntRix, with contributions from Teddy and 24 of The Black Label. Korean artists Jae, Audrey Nuna, and Ray AMI provided the vocals, blending diverse talents behind this chart-topping hit.
