Rookie group CORTIS is moving closer to global fans with an English release of their debut track.
CORTIS will release the English version of their debut album's title track, "What You Want (feat. Teezo Touchdown)," on August 22 at 1 p.m. KST.
American singer-songwriter Teezo Touchdown, known for collaborations with Tyler, The Creator, Drake, and Travis Scott, is featured on the track. A source said, "CORTIS, the 'Young Creator Crew,' is collaborating with hip-hop heavyweight Teezo Touchdown from a fresh perspective," raising fans' expectations.
The collaboration began last year at a U.S. songwriting camp. Teezo had no prior knowledge of CORTIS but agreed to work with them after seeing the members' creative process. The song "What You Want" was developed in a free-spirited atmosphere, and the demo recorded in English will now be officially released, preserving its liberated vibe.
The original Korean version expresses the bold pursuit of one's desires, while Teezo Touchdown adds his unique energy and personality, creating a fresh, dynamic sound.
CORTIS debuted on August 18. Their conceptual performance film for the title track surpassed 1 million views on YouTube by 10:07 a.m. KST on August 19. On the release day, the video also charted on Korea's YouTube trending music videos, Japan's Line Music, and QQ Music music video charts.
The group will appear on music shows starting August 21, delivering a striking performance featuring 11 moving treadmills, demonstrating their energetic and innovative stage presence.
