Actor Choi Jung-won, formerly of the group UN, has been booked on additional charges of making violent threats against his ex-partner.

According to police and media reports, Choi sent multiple threatening messages after his ex-partner ended their relationship on August 16. In one message revealed through KakaoTalk, he wrote, "One of us must die for this to end. You die, I die." He also reportedly called her repeatedly and sent several intimidating texts.

Choi later visited her home in person and acted in a threatening manner. The victim reported the incident to police, leading to his arrest on suspicion of stalking and special threats. Authorities immediately issued an emergency protective order, and the court granted a restraining order prohibiting Choi from approaching or contacting his ex-partner.

In response, Choi denied the allegations, claiming the messages were misunderstood. He stated, "I only mentioned self-harm after the breakup. I never intended to threaten her."

Choi has faced previous controversy. In 2023, he was sued for allegedly having an affair with a married woman, which led to a legal dispute involving countersuits for defamation.

Police are continuing their investigation into the latest charges.
