A man in his 20s who threatened to plant explosives at Plave's concert venue has been apprehended.
Police Investigation Underway
The Yongin West Police Department in Gyeonggi confirmed that the suspect, identified as A, was booked on charges of public intimidation. The case will be transferred to the police station with jurisdiction over A's residence for further investigation.
Threat on Social Media
On August 18, A posted on social media about Plave's encore concert scheduled for November 21–22, stating he would place explosives at Gocheok Dome. Police quickly identified him within approximately two and a half hours; A reportedly told authorities, "It was just a joke."
Rising Trend of Explosive Threats
Recently, multiple explosive threats have targeted locations such as Shinsegae Department Store, Busan swimming pools, a game company in Seongnam, the Olympic gymnastics arena, and Everland in Yongin.
Legal Consequences
Such acts are punishable under the Public Intimidation Act, carrying penalties of up to five years in prison or fines up to 20 million KRW. Repeat offenders may face up to 50% heavier sentences.
