HYBE CEO Lee Jae-sang Joins Recording Academy, Gains Grammy Voting Rights
by. ymchoi

Lee Jae-sang, CEO of HYBE, has officially become a member of the Recording Academy, the organization behind the Grammy Awards.

HYBE confirmed on August 22 that Lee was listed as a professional member of the Recording Academy. This membership is granted to producers, journalists, music professors, and senior executives in the industry who have proven expertise and experience.

Recognized for Global Impact

With this membership, Lee will earn the right to participate in Grammy Awards voting starting in 2026. His inclusion highlights his recognized contribution to the global music scene, especially in leading the expansion of K-pop.

Lee previously served as HYBE's Chief Strategy Officer and head of HYBE America before being appointed as CEO in September 2024. Under his leadership, HYBE has been pushing its "HYBE 2.0" strategy, aiming for new growth in the global market. Earlier in May, he was also named in Billboard's "2025 Global Power Players."

Expanding K-pop's Presence at the Grammys

The Recording Academy, founded in 1957, has long represented music professionals and has organized the Grammy Awards since 1959. Recently, 16 HYBE-affiliated artists also joined as new members, including producer Bumzu, Zico, SEVENTEEN's Woozi and Vernon, TXT's Yeonjun, ENHYPEN's Jungwon, LE SSERAFIM's Huh Yunjin, and KATSEYE.

Lee's new role as a Grammy voter further amplifies HYBE's growing influence in the U.S. music industry and global pop culture.
