Netflix's film Zombie Daughter (director Pil Gam-sung) has become the first domestic release this year to surpass 5 million viewers.
According to the Korean Integrated Box Office System, Zombie Daughter attracted 272,233 viewers over the weekend of August 22–24, bringing its cumulative total to 5,006,258. The film reached 5 million admissions in just 26 days after release, marking the fastest domestic milestone of the year and the first since Veteran 2 (director Ryoo Seung-wan) in September last year—almost 11 months ago.
The film achieved 5 million viewers faster than Smuggling, which took 36 days. It also held the No. 1 box office spot for 23 consecutive days, the longest this year, surpassing the blockbuster F1: The Movie (director Joseph Kosinski).
