New boy group CORTIS opened up about the creative process behind their debut music video.
CORTIS uploaded a 15-minute 44-second commentary on their YouTube channel on the 27th, detailing how they conceptualized, filmed, and edited the music video for their debut album's title track, "What You Want."
Dream-Inspired Concept
The members explained the concept arose from the pressure of constantly being asked "What do you want?" "It felt overwhelming, so the idea of a 'dream' came naturally," they said.
Collaborative Creativity
The group described their co-creation process as unique. "We just throw ideas out, even ones that seem crazy, and then organize them together," they recalled. This free-spirited approach allowed them to express themselves without strict constraints or pre-defined camera angles.
Unexpected Satisfaction
Although the footage was originally self-produced, the members were pleasantly surprised to see it incorporated into the final music video. "We shot it for fun, but it seems the 'dream' concept came out well," they said.
Viewing Tips
They suggested fans watch the original and subsequent videos consecutively, noting, "It's more fun to compare them, as the story flows like a mind map."
CORTIS is known as a "young creator crew," directly involved in their music, choreography, and video production. Their debut album is scheduled for release on September 8.
