P Nation stated, "We apologize for the concern caused, and a police investigation into the proxy collection of the sleep medication is currently underway." Reports indicate that from 2022 until recently, a third party retrieved the controlled substances from a university hospital in Seoul, leading to Psy being reported to the authorities.

Legal Implications

Police are investigating Professor A, who prescribed the medication, for potential violations of medical law. By law, controlled substances must generally be collected by the patient themselves, and proxy pickup is only allowed in exceptional cases. Violations can result in up to one year in prison or fines up to 10 million KRW.
