The production team of the upcoming Disney+ series Delusion has issued an apology after being accused of illegally dumping trash at a filming site in Jeju.
Controversy Sparked by Fan-Captured Video
On August 27, a netizen uploaded a short video showing piles of garbage left behind in a forest following a drama shoot. The footage included empty water bottles, plastic bags, and even a cup holder featuring actor Kim Seon-ho's face from a fan support event. The post quickly spread online, sparking criticism that the crew had abandoned waste in a natural setting.
The drama in question was identified as Delusion, starring Kim Seon-ho and Suzy. The series, based on a popular webtoon, is currently filming across various locations including Jeju and is scheduled for release next year.
Production Company Issues Apology
In response, production company Showbox admitted to negligence, stating, "Filming ended late at night, and the crew could not properly clean up due to the dark conditions." They confirmed that once the issue was recognized, the site was immediately restored and local authorities were informed.
"We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused," a representative said. "We have since cleaned the area and will take greater care to prevent such incidents in future productions."
