ILLIT has made their official debut in Japan with the release of their first Japanese single Toki Yo Tomare (時よ止まれ) on September 1, alongside a debut showcase in Tokyo.
The title translates to "Stop Time" in Korean and centers on capturing fleeting moments of youth. The album portrays the desire to hold onto sparkling, unforgettable experiences.
Debut Single Captures Summer Youth
The lead track, also titled Toki Yo Tomare, reflects the members' summer days through an upbeat melody. Japanese musician Murasaki Ima wrote the lyrics, delivering a message that resonates with young listeners. The accompanying music video evokes the atmosphere of a youth film, following the group on the final day of summer vacation as they wish for time to stand still.
ILLIT's signature bright and innocent charm is highlighted in the visuals, blending naturally with the cheerful music. A finger-point choreography adds a playful element to the performance.
Album Tracks and Upcoming Activities
The single album includes four tracks: the title song, the pre-release track Topping, a Japanese version of Borrowed Cat from their third mini-album, and their first original Japanese song.
To mark their debut, ILLIT will perform on TBS's CDTV Live! Live! on September 1. They are also scheduled to hold a fan concert, Glitter Day, in Osaka from September 3–4, expanding their presence in Japan through live promotions.
