BTS member Jimin has clarified reports of a romantic relationship with actress Song Da-eun, stating that the two dated in the past but are no longer involved.

On August 31, Big Hit Music stated, "The artist had mutual feelings and a connection with the other party in the past, but this was several years ago. Currently, they are not dating."

The rumors resurfaced after Song Da-eun posted a video on her TikTok account on August 27, showing her waiting near an elevator believed to be Jimin's residence, including a brief interaction that surprised him.

Jimin and Song Da-eun were first linked romantically in 2022 when Song shared a photo of an earphone case engraved with their initials, "D" for Da-eun and "J" for Jimin. Over the past two years, Song Da-eun intermittently posted content hinting at their relationship, including images of an interior resembling Jimin's home and a video of a man walking along the beach, presumed to be him.

In June, Song responded to fan criticism, saying, "Just because the idol you like loves me doesn't mean I deserve to be attacked. If I get angry, who knows what I might do."

Regarding the delayed response, Jimin's agency explained, "Out of respect for the other party, we refrained from commenting earlier. However, due to rampant speculation and rumors, it became necessary to clarify the minimal facts."

The statement concluded with a request for privacy: "We ask that indiscriminate speculation about personal lives be avoided, and any actions that could harm the other party be refrained from."
