The cast of Park Chan-wook's upcoming film No Choice shared insights from the set in a newly released commentary video.
Actors Reflect on Their Roles
CJ ENM unveiled the approximately three-minute-long "Actors Cut" on September 2, featuring Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min, Yum Hye-ran, and Cha Seung-won. Each actor discussed their characters and the process of bringing them convincingly to life on screen.
Lee Byung-hun plays Mansoo, a recently fired office worker. He described the character as "a common figure, macho yet a kind father with a soft heart," noting his focus on portraying extreme situations in a way that feels believable to the audience. Son Ye-jin takes on the role of his optimistic and ever-smiling wife, Miri, approaching scenes by asking, "What would Miri do?"
Park Hee-soon portrays a department head, emphasizing the character's inner conflicts and the importance of maintaining balance. Lee Sung-min plays Mansoo's lifelong rival, Beom-mo, admitting the challenge of expressing an ordinary character through Park Chan-wook's unique lens. Yum Hye-ran embodies Beom-mo's free-spirited wife, Ara, while Cha Seung-won portrays Sijo, a father striving to do his best in both work and family life.
