Sumin of STAYC is stepping onto the big screen with her first-ever film role, signaling the start of her acting career.
On September 4, High Up Entertainment confirmed that Sumin has completed filming for the horror movie Gwisi (directed by Hong Won-ki), which is set to premiere on September 17. The project marks her official debut as an actress.
A Chilling Storyline
Gwisi unfolds around a mysterious ghost market that appears whenever a fox window opens. The film explores the eerie desires of people who try to obtain what they cannot have.
Sumin plays Suin, the daughter of Heejin (portrayed by Seo Young-hee). Her character is a student obsessed with college entrance exams, portraying the realistic anxieties of youth that spiral into horror.
A New Side of Sumin
Although this is her first acting role, Sumin is said to have delicately expressed the intense emotions of her character, showing a stark contrast from her bright and cheerful stage image with STAYC.
Meanwhile, STAYC is currently on their world tour STAY TUNED, with shows across Asia and upcoming performances in North America.
