Fans have filed a complaint with Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) regarding SBS's variety program Shooting Stars (Korean title: 골 때리는 그녀들).
Allegations of Biased Refereeing and Editing
The Sports Ethics Center, under the MCST, confirmed on September 4 that it received a petition concerning alleged biased refereeing and possible broadcast manipulation. However, no formal investigation has yet begun. Fans submitted the complaint on September 2, requesting a thorough review.
The controversy traces back to the August 27 broadcast featuring the G-League final between FC Tall Girls and FC Wonder Woman. FC Tall Girls won 2–1. Issues arose when FC Tall Girls players were seen pulling the arm of Wonder Woman's ace, Mashima Yu, without the referee calling a foul.
The production team released official match records on August 30 to clarify the situation, but it showed that Mashima Yu received a yellow card in the 72nd minute—the only player penalized—sparking further criticism. The foul scene was omitted from both the broadcast and the full YouTube version, raising questions from viewers.
Previous Fairness Controversy
Shooting Stars has faced fairness issues before. In 2021, the show was criticized for changing the sequence of goals in a match. At that time, SBS apologized, pledged to return to its original intent, and replaced part of the production team.
