Actor Park Hae-soo is set to return in a crime investigation drama.
Drama Concept and Cast
The Genie TV series Scarecrow (written by Lee Ji-hyun, directed by Park Jun-woo) announced its cast on September 5. The lineup includes Park Hae-soo, Lee Hee-joon, and Kwak Sun-young.
Scarecrow is a crime investigation drama inspired by real events. It follows a detective tracking a serial murder case who must cooperate with someone he despises.
Park Hae-soo plays Detective Kang Tae-joo, an ace detective demoted to his hometown, Gangseong, where he encounters a troubled connection from his school days. The plot deepens as he must work with a former classmate to catch a criminal, leading to unexpected twists. Park commented, "I'm grateful to participate in a project prepared with such care. I'll live passionately within the work."
Supporting Characters
Lee Hee-joon stars as Prosecutor Cha Si-young, who aims to enter politics by solving the case, facing a tense cooperation with Tae-joo, whom he once tormented. Lee said, "The script was very engaging. It's an honor to join such a meaningful project."
Kwak Sun-young plays Seo Ji-won, a journalist at Gangseong Ilbo and Tae-joo's former classmate. She serves as a moral compass during the investigation. Kwak shared, "I'm looking forward to seeing the energy the director, staff, and actors will create together. Please give us your support and interest."
Scarecrow is scheduled for release on Genie TV and ENA in the first half of next year.
