BLACKPINK's Lisa has made history once again by winning "Best K-pop" at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards.
Historic Triple Crown
The ceremony took place on September 8 (KST) at the UBS Arena in New York, where Lisa's track Born Again earned her the "Best K-pop" trophy. With this win, Lisa became the first solo artist to claim the award three times, following her victories with LALISA in 2022 and ROCKSTAR in 2024.
About Born Again
Born Again is the fourth pre-release single from Lisa's first full-length album Alter Ego, released in February. The track features global pop star Doja Cat and rapper Lay, blending powerful rap with addictive hooks.
Lisa's Acceptance Speech
Although Lisa did not attend the ceremony in person, she appeared via video call to deliver her speech. "I'm so honored to receive this award," she said, thanking her collaborators: "Huge thanks to Doja Cat and Lay for making this song so special. And to my fans—none of this would have been possible without you. Thank you so much."
Strong Competition
This year's "Best K-pop" nominees also included Rosé's Toxic Till The End, Jennie's Like Jennie, Jisoo's Earthquake, and aespa's Whiplash, making Lisa's win even more significant.
Upcoming BLACKPINK Tour
Lisa will reunite with BLACKPINK for their group world tour DEADLINE, set to kick off on October 18 at Kaohsiung Stadium in Taiwan.
