The upcoming film Neighbors Upstairs (directed by Ha Jung-woo) has officially confirmed its theatrical release for December.
Premiere at Busan Film Festival
On September 8, the production team announced that the movie will first be unveiled at the 30th Busan International Film Festival under the "Korean Cinema Today – Special Premiere" section before heading to theaters in December.
Story of Two Couples
The film revolves around two couples brought together by upstairs-downstairs noise conflicts. Ha Jung-woo plays Mr. Kim, who lives upstairs with Soo-kyung (Lee Ha-nee), while Hyun-soo (Kim Dong-wook) and Jung-ah (Gong Hyo-jin) live downstairs. Their tense encounters spiral into comedic yet revealing situations.
Poster and Trailer Reveal
Alongside the announcement, a poster and trailer were released. The poster highlights the four leads' contrasting expressions with provocative quotes filling the background. The trailer captures candid moments—Hyun-soo flustered by Jung-ah's unexpected request for affection, while Mr. Kim and Soo-kyung exchange winks as they share intimate secrets.
Director's Signature Style
The production team commented, "Neighbors Upstairs showcases Ha Jung-woo's keen observational touch. Even uncomfortable situations are turned into sharp, witty dialogue that brings humor and intensity to the screen."
