Actress Kim Yoo-jung is set to showcase a bold transformation in her new drama.
Streaming platform TVING announced that its upcoming original series Dear X (written by Choi Jawon and Ban Ji-woon, directed by Lee Eung-bok and Park So-hyun) will premiere on November 6.
Crime, Mystery, and Suspense
The series is a crime melodrama with a suspenseful edge. It follows a masked woman who claws her way from the depths of despair to the very top, alongside the shattered lives of those known as "X."
A newly released poster teases the dark tone. Against a stark white background, the English title Dear X is written, with blood-red lettering drawing immediate attention.
Kim Yoo-jung as Baek A-jin
The poster also offers a glimpse of Baek A-jin, played by Kim Yoo-jung. Her piercing gaze through torn paper hints at a chilling duality—hiding her true self while probing into the depths of others.
Kim Yoo-jung takes on the role of A-jin, a top actress who rose to fame despite painful childhood scars. This marks one of her most daring acting transformations to date.
Behind the Scenes
The series is helmed by directors Lee Eung-bok, known for global hits like Sweet Home, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, and Descendants of the Sun, alongside Park So-hyun. The script is penned by Choi Jawon, winner of KBS's drama script competition, with contributions from writer Park Ji-woon, who has also worked on web novels and webtoons.
Global Spotlight
Dear X has already been invited to the "On Screen" section at the 30th Busan International Film Festival. It will premiere worldwide on TVING starting November 6.
