Park Chan-wook's upcoming film Out of Control is already showing strong box office momentum, ranking No. 1 in advance ticket sales nearly two weeks before its premiere.
According to the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing network, as of 10 a.m. on September 11, the film held a 30.6% reservation rate with 170,972 pre-sold tickets—securing the top spot in real-time rankings.
Surpassing Major Box Office Hits
The pace of pre-sales has outstripped several past blockbusters. Exhuma recorded 105,913 pre-sales four days before release, The Roundup 4 had 98,232 tickets sold ten days prior, and 12.12: The Day marked 37,817 pre-sales at the same stage.
Reaching 170,000 pre-sold tickets with 13 days still remaining until release is considered an exceptional milestone. The film currently dominates the top spot across Korea's three major multiplex chains—CGV, Lotte Cinema, and Megabox—indicating explosive anticipation for its debut.
