On September 12 at 1 p.m. KST, TWICE's Chaeyoung releases her long-awaited first solo full-length album LIL FANTASY vol.1 along with its title track SHOOT (Firecracker). She becomes the fourth member of TWICE to go solo, following Nayeon, Jihyo, and Tzuyu. For the title track, Chaeyoung participated in writing, composing, and arranging, expressing her determination as an artist with confidence and flair.

A Personal World in Music

The album contains ten tracks, including Avocado (featuring Gliiico), Band-Aid, Girl, Ribbons (featuring Sumin and Jibin of Y2K92), Downpour, BF, Shadow Play, My Guitar, and CD-only track Lonely Doll Waltz. Chaeyoung described the project as her own "little world," explaining, "LIL FANTASY is the name of a small universe inside me. It's filled with the preferences, thoughts, and attitudes I've built up over time."

She added that putting "vol.1" in the title symbolizes that her story is only beginning and will continue in different directions. The other TWICE members, she said, were proud and supportive of her solo journey.

Creative Control and Artistic Vision

Chaeyoung had a hand in every detail, from music to visuals. Many of the album's creative concepts stem from her own drawings, and she even filmed sneak peek videos herself to capture her emotions for each track. "Every song has my affection in it," she emphasized.

The decision to make SHOOT (Firecracker) the title track came from its celebratory message: "It's about exploding fireworks together and enjoying a party—celebrating this album as a whole." The song is dance-driven, allowing Chaeyoung to showcase a vibrant performance with jazz-inspired moves, bold gestures, and touches of 80s–90s disco flair.

A Message to Fans

Reflecting on her solo debut, Chaeyoung expressed gratitude: "Participating in Netflix's K-pop Demon Hunters OST and performing as a headliner at Lollapalooza Chicago were both big challenges and new opportunities. On top of that, releasing my first solo album feels like a blessing."

She left a heartfelt message for ONCE: "I hope this album becomes meaningful for you in different ways, and that you continue building your own dreamlike fantasy world. Thank you for waiting and supporting me on this journey."
