Actor and singer Lee Jun-young is set to expand his career to Japan through cinema, starring opposite acclaimed actress Aoi Yū.
First Look at Tokyo Taxi
On September 12, the production team of Tokyo Taxi (directed by Yamada Yōji) unveiled still cuts featuring Lee Jun-young dancing alongside Aoi Yū. The film, a human drama, explores themes of regret, reconciliation, and miracles encountered at the twilight of life. It is a Japanese adaptation of the French film Driving Madeleine (Paris Taxi).
Role as a First Love
Lee Jun-young plays Kim Young-gi, the first love of the main character Sumire (portrayed by Baishō Chieko). Aoi Yū embodies Sumire in her youth, bringing emotional depth to the character's past. The story connects Sumire's early romance with her later years, offering audiences a touching narrative of memory and longing.
Directed by a Master Filmmaker
The project is helmed by Yamada Yōji, one of Japan's most celebrated directors. The cast also includes top names like Kimura Takuya, Baishō Chieko, and Kōda Takaya, raising anticipation for the film's release. Tokyo Taxi is scheduled to premiere in Japan on November 21.
