Producer duo Black Eyed Pilseung has officially gone separate ways after over a decade of shaping K-pop's sound.
On September 13, High Up Entertainment announced, "The two producers decided to part ways due to different musical directions. Choi Kyu-sung resigned at the end of March." The agency added, "They created remarkable music together, and we ask for your support so that both can continue to shine in their respective paths."
Legacy of Hitmaking
Rado and Choi Kyu-sung began working together in 2009 and formally launched under the name Black Eyed Pilseung in 2014. The duo went on to create a string of K-pop mega-hits: SISTAR's Touch My Body, Apink's I'm So Sick and Dumhdurum, TWICE's Cheer Up, TT, Likey, and Fancy, as well as Chungha's Roller Coaster and Gotta Go.
From Producers to Idol Creators
In 2017, the two founded High Up Entertainment, expanding from producers to label executives. They debuted STAYC in 2020, earning praise for discovering and developing one of the most successful 4th-generation girl groups.
Their split marks the end of an era in K-pop producing, but both are expected to continue shaping the industry with their individual artistic visions.
