CORTIS Records 436K First-Week Sales, Ranks 4th Among All-Time K-pop Debut Albums
by. ymchoi

Rookie boy group CORTIS has made history with their debut album, securing a spot in the all-time Top 4 for K-pop debut album sales.

Released on September 8, COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES sold 436,367 copies in its first week, according to Hanteo Chart. This marks the highest first-week sales (known as "초동," or initial sales) for any rookie group debuting in 2025, and the 4th highest debut album sales in K-pop history.

Chart Domination Across Platforms

CORTIS is proving their momentum beyond physical album sales. On September 13, three of their tracks entered Korea Apple Music's "Top 100 Today" chart: intro track GO! at No. 4, title track What You Want at No. 8, and follow-up track FaSHioN at No. 10.

Globally, the group is also gaining traction. What You Want has held the No. 1 spot on Spotify's "Daily Viral Songs Global" chart for a full week, while GO! topped the same chart for three consecutive days.

A Remarkable Start Without Prior Fame

Their agency highlighted the significance of this achievement, noting, "CORTIS has no former survival show contestants or pre-debut celebrities in the lineup. Considering that, these numbers are an extraordinary milestone."

BigHit Music's First New Boy Group in Six Years

CORTIS is the first group launched by BigHit Music in six years, following the global success of BTS and TOMORROW X TOGETHER. With powerful sales and chart performance, expectations are high for their future as one of K-pop's next big acts.
