The popular webtoon Personal Taxi is being adapted into a drama through a co-production between Korea's Fuji TV and domestic studios, bringing a mid-form seasonal series to viewers across Asia.
Producers Big in Square and Studio Flow confirmed on September 15 the casting of Cha Tae-hyun, Lee Jae-in, Lim Se-mi, Hyun Bong-sik, Lee Yeon-hee, Kim Do-hyun, Mimi, Joo Jong-hyuk, Ye Ji-won, Ahn Ji-ho, Lim Ha-ryong, and Ye Soo-jung.
Healing Through Music and Stories
Personal Taxi is described as a human-healing music drama that follows a mysterious taxi service, which only accepts reserved passengers. Each ride reveals an ordinary yet extraordinary personal story, accompanied by a song request.
Cha Tae-hyun returns to acting two years after Moving, taking the driver's seat of the special taxi. His warm, nuanced performance is expected to lead the emotional narrative. Rising actress Lee Jae-in (Unknown Seoul, High Five) and Lim Se-mi (TRY: We Become Miracles, That Guy is a Dark Flame Dragon) will appear as passengers with moving stories.
Hyun Bong-sik, who impressed in Nine Puzzle, and Lee Yeon-hee, making her small-screen comeback after theater work earlier this year, also join the cast. Kim Do-hyun (Reborn Rich, Queen of Tears) and OH MY GIRL's Mimi, marking her first attempt at a serious acting role, add fresh dynamics. Veteran actors Ye Ji-won, Lim Ha-ryong, and Ye Soo-jung bring depth to the ensemble, while Joo Jong-hyuk and Ahn Ji-ho round out the lineup.
Proven Creative Team
Director Jeon Chang-geun, known for The Queen of Office, Mystic Pop-Up Bar, and What Happens to My Family?, helms the project, promising a sensitive and humanistic approach. Music directors Park Sung-il and Han Saem, acclaimed for their work on My Mister, Itaewon Class, and Misaeng, will shape the drama's emotional soundscape.
Global Expansion Plans
Personal Taxi will begin filming in September. Starting with Korea, the project is slated to expand globally through remakes and distribution across Asia, North America, and Europe—highlighting its universal themes of healing, music, and shared human experiences.
