Actor Ha Jung-woo has issued a warning about fraudulent social media accounts pretending to be him.
On September 15, Ha wrote on his official SNS, "I've been told there are many accounts impersonating me. Please be careful—there's only one account that's truly mine."
Call for Direct Reports
To prevent further damage, he asked fans to report impersonators directly. "If you come across someone pretending to be me, please send it to me via Instagram DM," he explained. He added that fans can also contact his agency, Walkhouse Company, to provide information.
Ha's statement comes as cases of impersonation continue to rise, with scammers often using fake celebrity accounts to mislead fans. His proactive move underscores the importance of vigilance online.
Upcoming Film Premiere
Meanwhile, Ha Jung-woo is preparing for the release of his new directorial project The Neighbors Upstairs. The film will premiere at the 30th Busan International Film Festival in the "Special Premiere" section on September 17.
The story revolves around two couples—one living upstairs, the other downstairs—who are brought together by nightly noise complaints that unexpectedly lead to shared meals. The cast includes Ha Jung-woo as Mr. Kim, Honey Lee as Soo-kyung, Kim Dong-wook as Hyun-soo, and Gong Hyo-jin as Jung-ah.
The production team described the project as "a film that highlights Ha Jung-woo's sharp observational eye, with dialogue that turns uncomfortable situations into witty humor."
The Neighbors Upstairs is set for theatrical release in December.
