The Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival is making its return with a star-studded honorary jury. Actors Joo Ji-hoon, Park Jung-min, Jeon Jong-seo, Kim Tae-ri, and Kim Da-mi will take part in the 21st edition of the festival.
Five Genres, Five Stars
The jury members will oversee five competitive categories. Joo Ji-hoon will join directors Kim Sung-hoon and Byun Young-joo in judging the drama section, "Take Care of My Cat." Park Jung-min will work with directors Lee Jong-pil and Lim Sun-ae in the romance category, "Jealousy Is My Middle Name."
Jeon Jong-seo will collaborate with Kang Hyoung-chul and Kim Han-gyeol to evaluate the comedy section, "Conduct Zero." Kim Tae-ri will team up with Yoo Jae-sun and Lee Kyung-mi for the horror category, "Ghost Story." Meanwhile, Kim Da-mi will join Kim Sung-su and Lee Chung-hyun on the action panel, "No Mercy."
Festival's Legacy and Return
Founded in 2002, the Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival is Korea's only genre-focused short film event. Known for discovering new directors who later became household names—including Kim Han-min (Roaring Currents), Na Hong-jin (The Wailing), and Yoon Jong-bin (Nameless Gangster)—the festival took a break after 2021 and is now back after four years.
Dates and Venues
The 21st Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival will run from October 16 to 20 at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Seoul and NAVER 1784. Winning films will be announced during the closing ceremony.
