LUN8 Redefines Their Identity With Dark Concept in "Lost" Showcase
by. ymchoi

LUN8 has returned with a bold transformation, embracing a dark and sensual concept that marks a new chapter in their identity.

From "Butterfly" to "Lost"

The group debuted in 2023 as an 8-member team but now promotes as six after lineup changes, including Eunseop's departure and temporary breaks for Dohyun and Ji Eun-ho due to health issues. In February, new member Yuuma joined as the eldest, helping complete the group's refreshed image.

On September 17, LUN8 held a showcase at Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul for their second single album Lost. The record includes three tracks—Lost, Bad Girl, and Naughty. Member Kael described the theme as "light, darkness, and brilliance," while Takuma introduced the title track Lost as a dreamy, rhythmic piece comparing a loved one to light.

Dark Visuals and Performance Highlights

Visually, the group leaned into a more decadent and mature aura. Kael shared, "I grew out my hair for a darker look and even passed on my chic expressions to the members." Ian highlighted the whistle hook in the chorus as the song's "killer part," while Junwoo pointed out the choreography: "We use hand movements to show ourselves being consumed by light, with dramatic gestures to express pain."

With fewer members, the group acknowledged the challenge of filling the stage. Jinsu noted, "It meant less grandeur compared to eight members, but we worked harder on expressions and emotions to captivate audiences."

Teamwork and Global Growth

Building chemistry with Yuuma was also a priority. "We've shared honest talks and continue growing closer," Junwoo said. Earlier this year, LUN8 completed their first European tour, performing in Poland, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands. "We truly felt the passion of global fans," Jinsu added. "It motivates us to deliver even better performances."

Looking Ahead

The group will also meet fans at their first official fan showcase on the same evening. Kael expressed his excitement: "It feels like a dream come true to finally stand before fans in this way."

As for their goals, Jinsu said, "We want to be known as masters of emotional expression. We hope audiences feel the longing embedded in our performances." Takuma added, "This marks our first step as six members, and we want to show fans everything we can."

LUN8's Lost dropped on September 17 at 6 p.m. across streaming platforms.
