Actor Son Suk-ku has issued a strong warning after discovering a social media account impersonating him.
On September 18, Son posted a screenshot of the fake Instagram account. While his real handle is sonsukku, the impersonator had added "_01" at the end. The account featured his personal and promotional photos, had already amassed 67,000 followers, and even carried a verified blue badge.
"This is an impersonation account," Son wrote. "Such actions could cause potential harm to me and my partners. I respectfully request that the blue badge be removed."
He further explained, "It would be appreciated if the account's purpose is clarified. We have already sent a direct message through my company, but after being blocked, I had no choice but to make this request publicly."
Fans quickly joined in, leaving comments labeling the page as a fake. The incident comes amid a rise in impersonation cases on social media, raising concerns about possible scams.
Son also asked for help from the public: "If there are other impersonation accounts I don't know about, please let me know. Wishing everyone a good day."
