Choi Minho, singer and actor, has returned to the stage with a bold new challenge.
On September 17, he appeared in the first performance of the play Waiting for Godot, Waiting at Yes24 Stage in Jongno, Seoul.
The production is an homage to Samuel Beckett's classic Waiting for Godot, reimagined through the eyes of stand-in actors Estragon and Val. Minho plays Val, a character brimming with pure passion for acting, who waits in the dressing room for his moment on stage.
The work presents profound themes in a witty, approachable way. Minho captured life's struggles, artistic yearning, and the pursuit of dreams through dialogue and physical performance.
His acting displayed an even greater depth of emotion compared to the original run. Reprising Val in this second staging, Minho brought maturity and confidence that captivated the audience.
"I'm truly grateful for the warm response to a play that reflects my own world," Minho shared. "I hope we can laugh and cry together through this journey."
Waiting for Godot, Waiting will run at Yes24 Stage until November 16.
