Yoona and Lee Chae-min have captivated global viewers with their hit drama.
According to Netflix's official Tudum site (September 14–21 tally), The Tyrant's Chef ranked No. 1 on the "Global Top 10 Non-English Shows" list. It became the first tvN drama to claim the top spot for two consecutive weeks.
A production insider credited the feat to "Yoona's global influence and Lee Chae-min's rising star power," adding that the series "balances acting, romance, comedy, and fantasy in a way that resonates with audiences worldwide."
The show has also generated buzz in Korea since its premiere. Yoona and Lee's romantic chemistry has been widely praised, while its blend of time-travel fantasy and traditional Korean cuisine has drawn attention for originality. Director Jang Tae-yoo's meticulous approach has further elevated the drama's appeal.
Ratings reflect its success: The Tyrant's Chef has led its time slot across all networks for four straight weeks. Episode 10, aired on September 21, surpassed 15% nationwide viewership.
The series tells the story of star chef Yoon Ji-young (Yoona), who time-slips to the Joseon era and encounters King Yeon Hee-gun (Lee Chae-min). Mixing gastronomy with romance and comedy, the drama has built a devoted following.
The Tyrant's Chef will wrap up this weekend, airing its finale on Saturday and Sunday at 9:10 p.m. KST.
