Actor Hwang Jung-min is ready to deliver both laughter and heartfelt emotion on stage.
Production company SEM Company unveiled rehearsal stills of the musical Mrs. Doubtfire on September 25, featuring Hwang Jung-min, Jung Sung-hwa, Jung Sang-hoon, Park Hye-na, and Lina. The photos, filled with energy and focus, heightened anticipation for the upcoming performance.
Hollywood Classic Reimagined
Based on the beloved Hollywood film, Mrs. Doubtfire tells the story of a divorced father who disguises himself as a nanny to reunite with his children. The musical first premiered in Korea in 2022 and will return to the Charlotte Theater on September 27.
Three Different Interpretations
Hwang Jung-min joins Jung Sung-hwa and Jung Sang-hoon in a triple casting for the lead role of Daniel. Together, they will present "three unique shades of Doubtfire," portraying a father's love with humor and warmth. Audiences can expect both laughter and tears as each actor adds their own style to the performance.
Signature Quick-Change Magic
One of the highlights of the show is its rapid costume transformations. Switching between Daniel and his nanny alter ego in just eight seconds, the production features about 20 quick changes per performance, showcasing the technical and comedic charm of the musical.
A Story of Family and Love
Producers expressed hopes that the show's themes will resonate deeply: "The story of a father willing to disguise himself to be with his children will leave audiences reflecting on family long after the curtain falls."
Mrs. Doubtfire runs from September 27 to December 7 at the Charlotte Theater in Seoul.
