(G)I-DLE Launches Japanese Promotions with "I Hate Being Sick" Japanese Version
by. ymchoi

(G)I-DLE has officially kicked off their Japanese activities.

On September 26, the group pre-released the Japanese version of I Hate Being Sick—a track from their new Japanese EP i-dle—on global streaming platforms. The release signals the beginning of a more active presence in Japan.

Concept Photos in Tokyo

Alongside the song, concept photos were unveiled. The group shot a unit photo at the Tokyo Tower observatory, smiling brightly with the night skyline behind them. Individual photos of Yuqi and Shuhua were also revealed, with Yuqi showing off blonde hair in a sporty look, while Shuhua channeled Y2K vibes in a tank top and casual styling.

New Japanese EP with 5 Tracks

The EP will include five tracks in total: the title song Doushiyokkana ("What Should I Do"), three brand-new songs, and Japanese versions of fan favorites including Queencard and I Hate Being Sick.

Originally released in January last year, I Hate Being Sick is a self-composed track by Soyeon, who took part in both writing and producing. The witty lyrics describe an unexpected encounter with "destiny," paired with an addictive melody. The track achieved an "all-kill" on Korean charts, dominating every major music platform and enjoying a reverse-charting boom.

Strong Start in Japan

(G)I-DLE already previewed the Japanese version of I Hate Being Sick during their performance at Summer Sonic 2025 on August 16–17, drawing an explosive response from local fans.

Would you like me to also highlight how "Perfect All-Kill" works in K-pop culture so overseas readers better understand the significance of that achievement?
