Actress Shin Ye-eun is stepping into the role of Joseon's most daring merchant.
In the Disney+ original drama Tachryu (written by Chun Sung-il, directed by Choo Chang-min), Shin takes on the character of Choi Eun, the youngest daughter of a powerful merchant family leading the largest trading guild in Joseon.
A Progressive Female Lead
Unlike women bound by tradition, Choi Eun dreams of inheriting her family business and forging her own path. Shin Ye-eun is set to portray her as a forward-thinking, ambitious woman who drives the story with determination and vision.
Expanding Acting Spectrum
Known for her roles in The Glory, Revenge of Others, and Jeong Nyeon, Shin has already proven her versatility across modern dramas, thrillers, and historical settings. Tachryu further expands her range, allowing her to embody a complex and empowered character.
Strong Creative Team
Industry insiders noted, "Shin Ye-eun immerses herself fully into every character she plays, elevating the story's impact. In Tachryu, she enriches Choi Eun with her strong acting skills." The series is also drawing attention for being the first drama directed by Choo Chang-min, who previously attracted over 10 million viewers with the film Masquerade.
Release Schedule
Tachryu launched today with its first three episodes. Two episodes will be released weekly, for a total of nine episodes.
