BTS member Jimin and his family are extending their positive influence through philanthropy, becoming the first three-member family to join Korea's prestigious Green Noble Club.
A Family Legacy of Giving
On September 29, child welfare organization Green Umbrella Children's Foundation announced that Jimin's younger brother joined the Green Noble Club in May, following in the footsteps of Jimin and their father. The club, established in 2017, recognizes donors who contribute over 100 million KRW (approx. $72,000), aiming to lead Korea's culture of large-scale charitable giving.
Jimin became a member in 2021 after donating 100 million KRW to support self-sufficient youth in Busan, low-income children, and housing improvement projects. His father joined in 2022 by funding the foundation's i-LEADer talent development program. After completing his military service, Jimin's brother, Park Ji-hyun, also joined, completing the family's philanthropic trio.
Recognition and Meaning
The foundation awarded a plaque of appreciation to Jimin's father, while Jimin himself received one from national honorary chairman Choi Bul-am. "The Jimin family is the very first father-and-sons trio in the Green Noble Club," the foundation stated. "This represents not only charitable giving but also the passing down of generosity across generations."
More Than Just Donations
Fans noted how Jimin's long-standing commitment to children's welfare aligns with BTS's broader message of hope and empowerment. His family's collective effort underscores the idea of philanthropy as a shared legacy, inspiring others to join in.
