A woman who trespassed into BTS member Jungkook's residence has been referred to prosecutors, as the group's agency reaffirms its zero-tolerance stance on illegal acts.
BigHit Music stated on Weverse on September 29, "There have been multiple incidents of unauthorized attempts to intrude into a member's home. In some cases, decisions have been made to refer the suspects to the prosecution. We will ensure they face strict punishment."
Multiple Intrusion Attempts
Jungkook was victimized twice this year due to home intrusion and attempted intrusion. In June, a woman in her 30s from China attempted to enter his residence. In August, a woman in her 40s successfully trespassed into the property.
BigHit Music emphasized, "Acts such as approaching or loitering around private residences, watching them from outside, leaking personal information, or otherwise violating privacy all constitute criminal offenses such as trespassing and stalking."
Protecting Artists' Privacy
The agency added, "These actions also cause severe anxiety and distress to the artists. We ask fans to respect their privacy and safety to foster a healthy and safe fan culture."
BTS and their management have reiterated their strict policy: "We respond with zero tolerance to all illegal behavior, including defamation, insults, and the spread of false information."
Ongoing Legal Action
BigHit Music confirmed that some of the cases filed last year have already been sent to prosecution with indictments in July. Investigations into incidents reported this year are also ongoing, with suspects being summoned and questioned through search warrants.
The agency concluded by expressing gratitude to fans: "We are always thankful for your love and dedication toward BTS. We will continue to make every effort to protect the rights and safety of our artists."
