The crime thriller No Other Choice (directed by Park Chan-wook) is heading to IMAX theaters, promising an even more immersive viewing experience.
On September 30, the production team confirmed the IMAX release, noting that the film will be "brought to life more vividly and dynamically through large-format screens and sharper resolution."
Poster Raises Tension
A newly unveiled poster adds to the suspense. It shows protagonist Mansoo (played by Lee Byung-hun) wearing a latex glove on one hand and an oven mitt on the other—inside the mitt, the outline of a gun hints at the film's dark tension.
Story of Survival and Desperation
No Other Choice follows the story of Mansoo, a laid-off office worker who fights his own battle for reemployment while striving to protect his wife Miri (Son Ye-jin) and their children. The film blends crime and thriller elements into a gritty narrative about survival in harsh circumstances.
Critical and Box Office Success
Upon release, the film quickly gained traction, surpassing 1 million moviegoers in its opening week. On Rotten Tomatoes, it currently holds a perfect 100% freshness rating, further boosting its global appeal.
Oscar Entry for Korea
The film has also been selected as Korea's official entry for the Best International Feature Film category at the 98th Academy Awards, set for March next year. The final shortlist of five nominees will be announced in December.
