On September 30, the production team of The Story of Manager Kim (written by Kim Hong-gi, directed by Cho Hyun-tak) unveiled still cuts of Ryu in character as Kim Nak-soo, a department head at a major corporation. The caption "Human Documentary: Theater of Life" highlights the show's focus on the realistic struggles of office workers. Ryu plays Kim Nak-soo, the head of Sales Team 1 at ACT Corporation. After 25 years of dedication, he finally achieves the title of department manager, enjoying what seems like a stable life with his wife and a son attending a prestigious university.
