The promotional campaign for the 2025 APEC Summit in Korea has reached a new level, featuring an all-star cast of Korea's most influential cultural figures.
A Star-Studded Cast
On October 2, APEC 2025 Korea unveiled a 1-minute-14-second promotional video on YouTube. The lineup included G-Dragon, IVE's Jang Wonyoung, legendary footballer Park Ji-sung, acclaimed director Park Chan-wook, global DJ Peggy Gou, Michelin-star chef An Sung-jae, and President Lee Jae-myung himself.
The video opened with G-Dragon dressed as a pilot, entering a diner where Park Chan-wook and Park Ji-sung were sharing a meal while Peggy Gou sipped tea. The scene then shifted to a symbolic gathering of APEC pilots. Chef An presented a delicately plated dish in the shape of Cheomseongdae, Korea's iconic observatory.
Jang Wonyoung appeared in a vibrant hanbok as a cashier, delivering the witty line: "Please move your car for 2025." The finale featured President Lee as an airport ground crew member, waving signaling batons to guide G-Dragon's takeoff.
Behind the Scenes
The campaign was directed by Dolphin Kidnappers' Shin Woo-seok, known for creative storytelling. He explained:
"We wanted to express the message 'The world gathers in Gyeongju' with symbolic visuals that would give Koreans pride and excitement."
Casting was carefully curated for maximum global impact. Shin noted that all participants juggled hectic schedules but still joined the project. G-Dragon flew in straight from a New York performance, while Park Chan-wook adjusted his film promotion activities to take part. Shin emphasized that President Lee's appearance was deliberately non-authoritative:
"We didn't want to portray him in a heavy-handed way, so we asked him to play a parking guide. We're grateful he agreed."
The Summit Ahead
The APEC 2025 Summit will take place in Gyeongju, South Korea, from October 31 to November 1, bringing together leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region.
This bold and creative promo highlights Korea's unique ability to blend politics, culture, and global influence into one powerful message ahead of the historic event.
