EJAE, the voice behind Huntrix leader Rumi in Netflix's hit animation K-Pop Demon Hunters, is officially stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist.

On October 5, EJAE shared a heartfelt post on social media: "The past few months have been unbelievably special. Appearing on SNL in the U.S. still feels like a dream."

EJAE gained global recognition for her powerful vocals as Rumi, the leader of Huntrix. The song Golden — performed by her character — topped both Billboard's Hot 100 and the UK Official Chart, marking a historic milestone for K-pop representation in animation.

"As a songwriter and the voice behind Rumi in K-Pop Demon Hunters, I'm endlessly grateful for the love I've received," she said. "I'm living the dreams I had since I was 11 years old."

EJAE also reflected on her artistic journey: "I used to feel more comfortable working behind the stage and thought I wasn't born to be an artist. But recently, I realized I don't need to limit myself to what that word means."

She revealed plans to begin her own "Artist Project." "Writing lyrics has always been my form of healing and joy," she explained. "There are songs that haven't found their place yet — through this project, I want to breathe life into them."

Her first release, In Another World, drops on October 24. "It feels like the perfect beginning," she said. "This song helped me through difficult times, and I hope it does the same for someone else."

EJAE concluded, "My journey is still being written. I'm deeply thankful to everyone who's willing to listen to my story."

A Korean-American singer-songwriter, EJAE has built her career composing, writing, and recording guide vocals for top K-pop acts including TWICE, Red Velvet, aespa, and NMIXX. Through K-Pop Demon Hunters, she made her voice known to audiences around the world.
