The global buzz surrounding Netflix's K-POP Demon Hunters ("KDH") shows no signs of slowing down. The film's original soundtrack singers have now taken center stage on one of America's biggest late-night shows.
KDH Vocalists Light Up Fallon Stage
On October 8, the vocal trio behind KDH—Lee Jae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami—appeared on NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The three performed the smash hit GOLDEN, the OST that has dominated global charts since its release.
Jimmy Fallon introduced them by saying, "Here's a number-one hit performance you don't want to miss," and the audience responded with explosive applause. Performing in front of the animated girl group Huntrix featured in the movie, the singers delivered a flawless live showcase.
A Live Debut Worthy of a Standing Ovation
Despite it being their first-ever live stage, the trio impressed with their precise harmony and stage presence. Lee Jae (voice of LUMI) hit the high notes effortlessly, while Audrey Nuna (MIRA) and Rei Ami (JOY) added depth with rich tones and perfect blending. Global fans flooded social media, praising their "unshakable vocals" and "cinematic energy."
From Emotional Stories to Platinum Records
During the interview, Fallon congratulated the singers, joking, "The studio was packed even during rehearsal—I thought The Beatles had arrived." The artists expressed disbelief and gratitude, calling the experience "a dream come true."
Rei Ami recalled a touching fan moment: "A five-year-old was singing GOLDEN at the top of their lungs—I almost cried." Audrey Nuna opened up about an emotional connection to a Kimbap scene in the film, saying, "As a kid, I used to hide while eating kimbap because of the smell. Seeing that moment on screen made me realize the world is changing—it meant so much to Korean Americans."
Lee Jae, who co-composed GOLDEN, shared how inspiration struck: "I was on my way to the dentist in a taxi when the melody came to me—I recorded it by humming into my phone."
Fallon closed the segment by announcing the KDH soundtrack's Platinum certification, declaring, "They're now officially Platinum artists!" as the audience cheered.
Billboard Domination Continues
Following their U.S. TV success, the trio has received multiple love calls, including invitations to appear on Saturday Night Live (SNL Season 51). Meanwhile, GOLDEN continues to reign on the Billboard Hot 100, holding the No.1 spot for the 8th consecutive week (as of October 11).
Among K-pop acts, only BTS's Butter (10 weeks) and GOLDEN have topped the Hot 100 for eight weeks or longer. Having debuted at No.81, GOLDEN has now spent 15 weeks on the chart, solidifying Huntrix and KDH as a true global pop culture phenomenon.
