In celebration of Hangeul Day, BLACKPINK's Jennie has unveiled a new Korean font, showcasing her love for her native language and culture. The font, titled "ZEN SERIF," was officially released on October 9.
A Fusion of Tradition and Modern Design
According to OA Entertainment, Jennie's agency, "Just as King Sejong created Hangeul so everyone could easily learn and write, Jennie hopes people around the world can enjoy the artistic beauty of the Korean script."
ZEN SERIF combines traditional Hangeul aesthetics with contemporary design sensibility. The font minimizes ornamentation and features soft curves, blending the Western blackletter style with Hangeul for a striking yet elegant look.
Global Launch Through Meta Collaboration
The font was developed in collaboration with Meta and has been added to Edit, Instagram's short-form video editing app—marking the first Korean font ever featured on the platform. Starting today, users worldwide can download and use ZEN SERIF for free.
OA Entertainment shared, "This font embodies the identity of both Jennie and OA Entertainment. Releasing it on Hangeul Day makes it even more meaningful."
Jennie's Continued Celebration of Korean Culture
Jennie has consistently expressed her pride in Korean culture. Through her songs ZEN and Seoul City from her first full-length album, she showcased the charm of Korean style to the world. As an honorary ambassador for Seoul Tourism, she continues to highlight the beauty and creativity of Korea on a global stage.
