SEVENTEEN's The8, Mingyu, and Vernon have teamed up with British singer-songwriter PinkPantheress to reinterpret her global hit.
Pledis Entertainment announced on October 10 that the remix track Illegal + SEVENTEEN, created by the three members, was released at 8 a.m. KST.
Drum & Bass Meets UK Vibes
The original Illegal samples Dark & Long – Dark Train by the British electronic duo Underworld, layering in energetic drum and bass elements. Since its release in May, the song has gained massive worldwide popularity — charting on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and surpassing 100 million streams on Spotify.
This remix is part of PinkPantheress's new album project Fancy Some More?, which also features collaborations with artists like Anitta and Jade.
SEVENTEEN's Touch of Creativity
"The project was especially fun since it's a genre we personally enjoy," the members shared. "It was a meaningful collaboration that allowed us to show a new side of SEVENTEEN."
They added, "If you focus on the rhythm, you'll truly feel the charm of Illegal + SEVENTEEN."
Continuing Global Expansion
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN will kick off their North American leg of the world tour on October 12 (local time) at the Tacoma Dome in the U.S.
