Anime fever continues with steady ticket sales and strong fan buzz
The theatrical film Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc dominated the weekend box office, extending the momentum of Japanese animation in Korea.
According to data from the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing network, the movie ranked No. 1 at the box office for the weekend of October 10–12, attracting a cumulative 1.83 million viewers.
Anime power at the box office
The film outperformed its opening weekend score of 311,705 viewers and achieved 324,142 over the third weekend, showing sustained audience growth through positive word-of-mouth.
Since topping advance ticket sales on October 7, Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc has remained the reservation leader through October 13. As of 8:54 a.m. that day, it held a 28.4% reservation rate, with over 40,000 tickets already booked — signaling continued momentum into its fourth week.
Premium formats such as IMAX, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema are fueling repeat viewings, as fans return for immersive experiences. Following Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Arc, it's poised to become the second Japanese animated film this year to surpass 2 million theatergoers in Korea.

Based on Tatsuki Fujimoto's acclaimed manga Chainsaw Man, the film adapts the beloved "Reze Arc," a fan-favorite storyline known for its emotional depth and explosive action.
