Im Ji-yeon and Heo Nam-joon are set to ignite screens with a thrilling "hate-and-love" romance in SBS's upcoming weekend drama Brave New World (written by Kang Hyun-joo, directed by Han Tae-seop).
The drama follows the fateful encounter between Shin Seori, a notorious villainess from the Joseon Dynasty, and Cha Segye, a ruthless modern-day chaebol heir. Their story unfolds as a fierce and passionate battle between two equally dangerous souls.
Im Ji-yeon takes on a dual role, playing Shin Seori — a struggling actress who becomes possessed by the spirit of Kang Dan-shim, a legendary Joseon-era femme fatale who meets her end by poison. Awakening in 2026 as Shin Seori, she must now face a completely different world — and a powerful man who mirrors her own darkness.
Heo Nam-joon transforms into Cha Segye, the arrogant heir to the Cha Group. Known as the "Prince of Power," he meets Seori dressed in shamanic robes, sparking an unpredictable, volatile relationship that blurs the line between hostility and attraction.
The drama also marks a reunion of two of Korea's most compelling "villain" actors — Im Ji-yeon, famed for The Glory, and Heo Nam-joon, who made waves in Your Honor. Their chemistry as morally complex antiheroes is already drawing strong anticipation.
Brave New World is slated to premiere in 2026.
