Cortiz reached out to American listeners through Apple Music Radio's The Zane Lowe Show on October 16 (KST), live from Apple Music Studios in Los Angeles.
Hosted by British interviewer Zane Lowe, the show has previously featured pop icons like Taylor Swift and Tyler, The Creator, drawing global attention.
Lowe introduced Cortiz as "a young creator crew who co-produce their own music, choreography, and visuals," praising their strong team chemistry.
"We love expressing ourselves through every medium—music, videos, photos, everything," the group shared. "The process itself is pure fun for us."
"Our energy became music"
Cortiz also talked about the making of their intro track GO!, which they revealed was born during a songwriting camp in Los Angeles.
"All of us were literally running around the studio while recording. You can feel our wild energy captured in the song," they said.
Their debut album COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES was described as "a diary-like album that captures Cortiz as we are, without filters."
Collaboration and recognition
Singer-songwriter Teezo Touchdown made a surprise video call during the show. Having featured on the title track What You Want, he praised the group's passion.
"I was amazed by Cortiz's drive and work ethic—it's contagious. Since meeting them, I've been working ten times harder," he said.
Recently, Cortiz surpassed 100 million cumulative streams on Spotify—the fastest milestone achieved by any rookie group debuting this year.
