TXT's Beomgyu Takes Legal Action After Solo Song 'Take My Half' Allegedly Plagiarized
by. ymchoi

Beomgyu of TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) has become a victim of creative plagiarism.

On October 16, BIGHIT MUSIC announced via global fan platform Weverse that it will take legal action regarding Beomgyu's solo track Take My Half.

The song, included in TXT's 4th full-length album The Name Chapter: TOGETHER, was co-written and composed by Beomgyu himself.

However, about a month after its release, several tracks with the same title and nearly identical melody, rhythm, and chord progression appeared on multiple streaming platforms — sparking accusations of plagiarism.

BIGHIT MUSIC stated, "Given the clear similarities, we are currently in consultation with a law firm to proceed with legal measures."

The agency emphasized, "An artist's creative work is their unique property and must be respected. We will take all necessary steps to protect Beomgyu's rightful ownership."

They also apologized to fans, saying, "We sincerely regret causing concern and will do our best to foster a healthy creative environment."

Meanwhile, TXT recently partnered with UNICEF, pledging to donate $1.4 million USD (approximately 1.9 billion KRW) over the next two years.
