Actress Clara has officially divorced Korean-American businessman Samuel Hwang after six years of marriage.
On October 17, her agency KHS Entertainment confirmed, "Clara finalized her divorce through mutual agreement this past August. The announcement was delayed out of respect for both families' privacy and understanding."
According to the agency, the decision came after long and thoughtful discussions between the couple. Clara expressed through her agency, "I'm deeply sorry to those who supported us that I must deliver such unfortunate news."
She now plans to focus on her acting career. The agency added, "We ask for your continued encouragement and support for Clara as she moves forward as an actress."
Clara and Samuel Hwang tied the knot in a private ceremony held in the U.S. in January 2019. After about six years of marriage, the two have chosen separate paths.
Clara debuted in 2006 through the KBS2 drama Invisible Man Choi Jang-soo and gained recognition for roles in Baby-Faced Beauty, Take Care of Us, Captain, Goddess of Marriage, and Emergency Couple.
She continues to be active in both Korea and China, appearing in Chinese productions such as The Mermaid 2, Da Hong Pao, The Yin-Yang Demon Painting, and The Wandering Earth 2, earning significant popularity in the region.
