"Precision Dance, Proven Skill" — HATSU2HEARTS Show Cool Growth with 'FOCUS' Showcase
by. ymchoi

This time, it's all about synchronization.

HATSU2HEARTS expands their musical world with a chic new concept, transforming everything from visuals to choreography. Their latest mini album marks a turning point — a confident declaration of their rise as one of K-pop's next leading girl groups.

Powerful Choreography and Honest Emotion

At the media showcase held at Blue Square SOL Travel Hall in Seoul on October 20, the group introduced their first mini album FOCUS. The album highlights their strongest choreography to date, trading their signature bubbly movements for sharp, precise formations designed to capture each member's individuality within dynamic stage layouts.

Jiwoo shared, "HATSU2HEARTS expresses emotions that teenagers feel most honestly. In this album, we've captured those emotions in a deeper and more detailed way."

The six-track album includes the title track FOCUS along with Apple Pie, Flutter, Blue Moon, Pretty Please, and STYLE.

'FOCUS' — A New Sound and Identity

FOCUS is a house-style track featuring an addictive piano riff. "It's our first time trying this genre," Jiwoo said. "We wanted to show a cooler, more sophisticated side of ourselves." Stella added, "The first time I heard it, it felt hypnotic. We worked hard to show a fresh image, and we're ready to perform with full confidence."

Producer Kenzi participated in writing the lyrics. Yooha explained, "The song conveys the feeling of being completely drawn to someone. It also carries the message that everyone's attention will soon be on HATSU2HEARTS."

Member Ian emphasized the choreography's scale: "We really leaned into the advantage of being a large group. There are multiple formations and unit dances throughout — fans should look forward to them."

A Youth Story in Motion

The music video portrays the world of teenage girls — classmates who share friendship, rivalry, and growth. Yooha revealed, "We acted out a story where all eyes are on each other. It's about the complicated emotions you experience in everyday school life."

Eina, Jiwoo, and Yooha also took on action scenes, performing a magical duel sequence reminiscent of Harry Potter. "It was my first time filming with wires," Eina said with a laugh. "I was nervous but ended up enjoying it. The result turned out beautifully."

Fast Growth, Real Passion

In just eight months since debut, HATSU2HEARTS has released two albums and performed on multiple stages in and outside Korea. Stella reflected, "We've learned how to really connect with audiences." Jiwoo added, "We've become more relaxed and confident — we can now express our personalities on stage."

Their progress, they say, comes from passion and teamwork. Yeon confessed, "Our main dancer, Jooeun, helps us perfect every detail. That's the secret behind our tight choreography."

Ian, who went viral for the hip-move challenge from The Chase, smiled, "I'm grateful that people recognized my effort. Please look forward to the choreography for FOCUS too."

Eina closed with determination: "We want to top music shows and charts with this comeback — but more than that, we hope our genuine love for performing reaches everyone watching."
